Some styles are by their nature incompatible with some options and/or combination of options. Please talk to a Carlyle Design Consultant for more information prior to final order placement. Arm Treatments

Carlyle offers rounded arms, straight arms, flared arms, rounded-top arms, and rounded-edge arms. Each arm style offers many variations in scale and detail. All heights and widths are adjustable. Most details are available on almost any arm, including “t”-arms, and “t”-arms with rounded bases. Pictured are only some of the many variations available in each category.

Lawson vs. Tuxedo

A Lawson is typically understood as any piece where the arm height is lower than the back. Tuxedo implies arm and back heights are equal.

Any arm style can be finished with a concealed welt, with tri-stitch or with self and contrast welt. Welt cord with seaming tape can also be applied. Any arm can be finished with any combination of fitted panel and tack panel, welted or not, provided the arm is wide enough to support the finished treatment.

Back Styles

Carlyle offers a wide variety of “loose cushion” and “tight-back” options for every frame style with squared or rounded edges, with mock or real pull-though tight backs, with tufted backs, camel and hump backs, and backs with boxed and pull-over borders. Pictured are only some of the many variations available in each category.

Back Styles by Carlyle

Almost any back style can be combined with any arm, base or skirt detail. “Tight backs” are by nature a long expanse of finished upholstery. Many upholstery fabrics are not designed to be “railroaded” and must therefore be seemed together to cover the back.
