The Organic Sofa Collection:

With over 100 years of collective expertise in the field of custom upholstery and reupholstery we have vast hands-on experience with every imaginable material, compound, fabric,animal hide, and process. Many clients desire their early 1900 estate pieces redone with the same materials available at the original time of manufacture. Prior to the 1930's poly foams and paddings were simply not available and did not become a staple of furniture production until the early 1960's. Due to popular demand Carlyle is now making available many of these forgotten materials in newly made custom pieces. A few examples are:

• Real Horse and/or Boars Hair padding
• Synthetic Horse and/or Boars Hair padding
• Wool and/or Cotton batting for padding
• Moss and/or Coconut thatch weave for padding support
• Burlap and/or Canvas for padding support
• All Down and Feather seating 
• Latex mattresses for sofa beds
• Soy based and new "Clean" foams for padding and seating

All of these materials are available on any style as a replacement for or in conjunction with any traditional foam padding or seating.

Pricing will depend on the style chosen and well as the type and amount of material needed to achieve a desired effect. Through Carlyle, a "real" 98% organic sofa can cost up to 20% above our normal c.o.m price as well as require a little more time for production. Please call any showroom for more information.
